Refund policy

Refund and Returns Policy

This Refund and Returns Policy is in accordance with the South African Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (“CPA”).

By purchasing from Equi Boutique, you agree to the following terms:

We have a 7-day return policy, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@equiboutique.co.za. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.  You can always contact us for any return question at info@equiboutique.co.za

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and correct it as per your order.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

1. No Refunds for Change of Mind

We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or returns if you:

  • Change your mind,

  • Decide you no longer want the product,

  • Find the product cheaper elsewhere, or

  • Incorrectly purchased the product.

2. Defective or Faulty Goods

In line with the CPA, you are entitled to return goods within 6 months of purchase if they are:

  • Defective,

  • Unsafe,

  • Of poor quality,

  • Not durable for a reasonable period, or

  • Not fit for the purpose they were supplied.

If the goods are found to be defective, we will, at our discretion, repair, replace, or refund the item.

3. Assessment of Returned Goods

All returned items will be inspected and tested. A return may be rejected if the goods:

  • Show signs of misuse, abuse, or negligence,

  • Were damaged after leaving our store,

  • Were altered, installed incorrectly, or used for unintended purposes.

  • To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

4. Exclusions

The following items are non-returnable and non-refundable unless defective under the CPA:

  • Perishable goods (e.g., food, flowers),

  • No returns are allowed on any bits or saddles.

  • Gift cards, sale goods or vouchers,

  • Goods that have been custom-made, altered, or personalised.

5. Direct Marketing Purchases

If you purchased goods through direct marketing, you are entitled to a 5 business-day cooling-off period to cancel the transaction. Goods must be returned unused and in their original packaging.

6. Proof of Purchase

No refunds, repairs, or exchanges will be processed without valid proof of purchase.
